A loan helped to purchase more fashionable clothes for resale.

Ketty's story

Ketty is 32 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mityana region of Uganda. She is married and has 2 children, who are all currently in school.

For the past 5 years, Ketty has been working hard to manage her boutique, which sells all kinds of adult clothes, like shirts, dresses, etc.

To help expand her business, Ketty has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more fashionable clothes for resale.

It will help Ketty to generate greater profits and improve on her standards of living by providing enough food for her family.

Ketty hopes that in the future she will be able to own a plot of land and build a house.

She is a member of BRAC's Microfinance Program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members, like Ketty, who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.

This loan is special because:

It offers training programs in life skills for young women.
