Leido Asongtaaba 2 Group's story

The Leligo Asongtaaba farmer group is 24 farmers in the Anafobiisi community in the Upper East Region of Ghana. All members are women, primarily single mothers. They produce legumes and cultivate cereal and will be happy to benefit from this Kiva loan.

The group understands the importance of adopting modern techniques to enhance crop production. They recognize the potential for growth and prosperity through investing in high-quality farm inputs and mechanization services. The group’s dream is to see their farms flourish, not just for themselves and their families, but also as a source of sustenance and livelihood for their community.

Each group member farms half a hectare of land and faces the challenge of a lack of capital to pay for inputs and agricultural services, which would increase yield and better household incomes.

In the picture is Npobila, the group leader. She has two children and is the lead farmer of the group. This loan will provide up to GHS 17,376 for the entire group. It will support these farmers to access farm inputs and mechanization services.
