A loan helped to purchase more bales of used clothes to sell.

Jartu's story

Jartu is 40 years old. She is married and has 5 children. They are currently in school and live at home.

Jartu is a strong businesswoman who sells dried goods. For five years, she has been operating her sales. She learned how to sell by herself and also started the business with her own savings. She works Monday through Saturday and uses a car to transport supplies to her business site.

Jartu has applied for a loan with BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. The loan will be used to buy more dried goods to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it helps her a lot. Her dream for the future is to own a shop. Jartu is grateful for the financial support rendered.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
