A loan helped to buy more dried fish to sell.

Felecia's story

Felecia is 42 years old, from Liberia. She is married and has four children; they are schooling and live at home. Felecia attended school up to 10th grade.

She is a hardworking businesswoman who sells dried fish. She has been operating her sales for 10 years. She learned how to sell from her aunty and started the business with earnings from her husband. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site and works Monday through Saturday.

Felecia applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva Lending Partner. With this loan, she will buy more dried fish to sell in order to generate greater profits. She likes her business because it supports her family. She wants to purchase land and build a house in the future. Felecia wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
