A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving business.

Loisi's story

Loisi is married to a farmer and they have only one son.

Currently Loisi is running a weaving business, where she weaves on her own, and she weaves taovala only. She uses white pandanus for her weaving, because taovala and mats that are woven from white pandanus have a higher price. It takes her two weeks to weave and perfect one taovala, before selling it.

She is applying for this loan to buy the amount of pandanus she needs for her weaving. Her weaving is their main source of income, and her loan helps support her business.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
