A loan helped to buy mulberry and a roll of tapa-paper for her business of making tapas.

Mele's story

Mele is a young mother who gets to join a group of women in the village every week to make tapas. She is married to a farmer, and they have four children. They live in a two bedroom house, and it is her dream to build a better life for her family one day.

Her husband helps with preparing her soft tapas. When her tapas are ready, she export them to her two older sisters overseas, for a better market.

This loan will help support her business by enabling her to buy mulberry and a roll of tapa-paper.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
