A loan helped to buy mulberry for her tapa-making business.

Linita's story

Linita is married to a farmer. They are blessed with six children, all of whom are in school. She makes a living through making tapas to sell.

Once every week, Linita joins a group of women, and together they perform the making of tapas. They make more than one tapa, design them, then sell them out. Linita also prepares soft tapas for some of the women in the group who are not able to prepare their own. It is an extra income for her. Her husband is her main helper with preparing her soft tapas.

Linita is looking forward to using this loan to buy mulberry and to support her business. This is her family's primary source of income, and she is working hard to maintain it.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
