A loan helped to buy pandanus and support her weaving business.

Sela's story

This mother's name is Sela. She is married to a carpenter, and they have six children. Currently, she runs a weaving business, where she weaves taovala and sells them to some of her relatives overseas and to local customers. She has other businesses, including handicraft and a canteen, but this loan is to help her weaving only. Her canteen is helped by her husband, and they are selling at the nearby high school in the area. They are willing to run multiple businesses to support and build up their family's standard of living. With this loan, she is able to buy pandanus for her weaving.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
