My passion and love for culinary arts started when making family meals with my Great Grandmother and Father at a very young age. My Great Grandmother was a chef, and father was always in the kitchen creating new recipes. I attended The Art Institute California, where I earned a culinary arts and management degree. I am a classically trained chef that worked in prominent hotels in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
I started Tailor Made Custom Catering in 2019 on the island of Oahu. Some of my most memorable past-times in the kitchen are when I catered for major sports teams and weddings/special events. I love catering weddings because each event is unique with complex menus and attention to detail. Also, you get to be a part of others’ most memorable moments. I am passionate about sourcing high quality food, scratch cooking, and supporting local.
As a child I relocated from Southern California to Hawaii to help look after family affairs and throughout the years she would travel back and forth from the mainland to Hawaii. I met my Hawaii born wife in Los Angeles and planned to move back to the islands to open my business and raise a family.
I have had different motivators and after having children I became even more motivated to become and remain an entrepreneur, I now have two beautiful children that look at me, I want them to know that they can achieve whatever it is that they want in this life and that they have me to come to for support through their own Entrepreneurial wishes

After completing our clients weddings our community wanted to have a way to remain connected and so we started Lilikoi Kitchen a neighborhood cafe, I am able to give my team members consistent employment and have our team, work weddings and serve our community on a consistent basis while staying true to our core values and mission. What is the purpose of this loan?
I am applying for the loan to secure additional equipment for an additional brick & mortar. We will need additional marketing dollars and additional equipment than previously needed.
My business will be impacted by the loan hugely, we will be able open an additional brick and mortar and serve additional customers at an additional location. We have outgrown our current working conditions and need more space. With more space we will be able to maximize volume of business and gain more revenue.

When lending internationally, the local currency in a borrower's country may lose some of its value compared to the US dollar -- requiring the partner to use more of its local currency to repay Kiva in USD. We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.
Potential for currency exchange loss is noted on every loan profile under the loan details:
"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
