A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Frank's Group A's story

This season is not the first one that Levy is working alongside One Acre Fund. He has been a member for a few years now, having joined the program in 2019. Although he is the only person featured in the above picture (others in the group were unavailable during profile collections), he is actually representing his group of six farmers in Koromaiti Duka Zone District, Kenya.

Levy is often described by his community as a very hardworking individual and decided to be the one to represent his group, because he wanted to be more active in his community. Like many of his fellow farmers, Levy decided he wanted to be part of the One Acre Fund community, in order to get the best quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds. He hopes to use the profits from this year’s harvest to buy a goat.

This loan will not only help Levy, but the whole group, who will receive maize seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 5.5 acres of land.

In this group: Levy, Ayub , James , Musa , Janet , Francisca

This loan is special because:

It provides smallholder farmers with seeds and supplies at the planting season.
