A loan helped to buy mulberry to make more tapa.

Mani's story

This mother's name is Mani. She has six grown-up children and makes a living from making tapa.

Once every week, she has to join a group of women in their village that gather in the village hall to make tapa. They make more than one tapa, using soft tapa and tapa-paper. Mani designs her tapa then sells them to some of her relatives overseas and to local random buyers.

She is looking forward to using this loan on buying mulberry for her tapa-making.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
