A loan helped to invest in a bulk purchase of silver and gemstones, as well as new equipment for her workshop.

Kadek's story

Kadek is an artisan from Indonesia who specializes in sterling silver and gemstone jewelry. She would like to invest in a bulk purchase of silver and gemstones, as well as a new rolling mill and polisher for her workshop.

Kadek has been selling through NOVICA since 2021. This is her story:

"My parents worked as silversmiths. I was often involved in the work my father and mother did. When they crafted jewelry, I would help with the packaging and put size labels on the rings. But it was very useful for me because, indirectly, that's where I started to be interested in pursuing this craft. So slowly I learned to design jewelry. I learned a lot by watching and started trying to make my own designs. My mother taught me a lot about designing jewelry, while my father taught me how to sell it and communicate well with potential buyers. It's a perfect combination. In designing, I am inspired by everyday life and Balinese culture."

"This is my first microcredit request, and it is a very exciting opportunity. I would like to express my gratitude to each of you who would consider supporting a woman-owned small business such as mine. I hope God will bless you in all ways."
