A loan helped to buy oil, charcoal, rice, and other items to sell.

Nancy's story

Nancy is 49 years old and from Liberia. She is married and has six children, three of whom are still schooling and all live at home.

Nancy is a hardworking businesswoman who sells oil, charcoal, rice, and other items and has been managing her sales for 12 years. She learned how to sell from her husband. She works Monday through Saturday and uses a car to transport supplies to her business site. She is proud of her business because it supports her family.

Nancy approached BRAC Liberia, a Kiva Lending Partner, to buy more oil, charcoal, rice, and other items to sell to her good clients. She wants to continue her children's education in the future.

Nancy is highly grateful for the financial support rendered!

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
