A loan helped a member to buy more Irish potato seeds and fertilizers.


Abisunganye Gasizi Agric Sub Grp C Group's story

Marceline, 52, has two children whose ages range from of 13 to 19. Her husband is also a farmer, and for the past 30 years, she has been growing Irish potatoes. Marceline is the leader of the group named Abisunganye Gasizi Agric Sub Grp C, which in English means "togetherness" All of the group members are Irish potato growers.

Marceline will use her loan to buy more Irish potato seeds and fertilizers. She will then sell her harvest at the marketplace to meet customer demands in the area. With the profits from her sales, she hopes to be able to expand land for agriculture and be able to increase savings.
