Fatou is a very active young married woman. You can see her in the photo on the left holding the animal. She is the president of the "Baniare Neppenne Peulh" group which in Fulani means "Neppenne Fulani Bravery". She has been raising sheep and goats for over 10 years. She is 31 years old and has three dependent children aged one to nine years old. The oldest is a girl who goes to school.
Fatou would like to expand her business buying more goats and sheep of different breeds. She buys her animals in the weekly markets often and resells them in the same markets or at home for religious events.
The revenue obtained from her business allows her to repay her loan without problem and provide a lot of support for her family in food, educational fees and health care.
However some difficulties have been noted: the recurrence of brush fires, animals getting sick and the theft of animals.
