A loan helped a member to buy sheep and goats to resell.

Haldi Foti Neppenne Peulh Group's story

Ms. Fatoumata is a very committed married woman. In the photo, you can see her in the middle of the group wearing a black scarf and holding the group's documents. She is president of the “Haldi foti neppenne peulh” group, a word in Peulh which means “Neppenne Peulh Agreement”.

She is very enterprising and has been breeding sheep and goats for more than 10 years. Aged 26, she has two children in her care who are between two and five years old. The first is a girl and she goes to school.

Ms. Fatoumata wishes to develop her breeding business by purchasing other goats and sheep of different breeds. The subjects are often bought at home in weekly markets and sold in these same markets or at home during religious events. The income generated from this business allows her to repay the loan without difficulty and to provide a lot of support to the family in terms of food, school fees and health. However, certain difficulties have been noted: the increase in bush fires, livestock diseases and livestock theft.

In this group: Fatoumata, Mariama, Ramatoulaye, Penda, Coumba, Matou, Coumba, Toupe, Dienabou, Kadidiatou, Penda, Mariama
