A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve maize harvests.

Juakali Group's story

This season is not the first one in which Bramuel is working alongside One Acre Fund. He has been a member for a few years now, having joined the program in 2013. Although he is the only person featured in the above picture (others in the group were unavailable during profile collections), he is actually representing his group of seven farmers in Chwele Duka Zone District, Kenya.

Bramuel is often described by his community as a very friendly person. He decided to be the one to represent his group because he wanted to help more farmers. Like many of his fellow farmers, Bramuel decided he wanted to be part of the One Acre Fund community in order to get the best quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds. He hopes to use the profits from this year’s harvest to save more money for the future.

This loan will not help only Bramuel, but the whole group. The group will receive maize seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 4.77 acres of land.

In this group: Bramuel, Anita , Martin , Evarlyne , Robert , Kevin , Annah

This loan is special because:

It provides smallholder farmers with seeds and supplies at the planting season.
