A loan helped a member to buy hybrid seeds and fertilizer for cultivation of maize.

Neema Group's story

This season is not the first Edward is working alongside One Acre Fund. He joined the program in 2022 and although he's the only person in the above picture, he represents his group of 18 farmers in Webuye Duka Zone District, Kenya.

He's often described by his community as very trustworthy and is representing his group because he wanted to spread the story of One Acre Fund farmers. Like many of his fellow farmers, Edward wanted to be part of the One Acre Fund community to get the best quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds and hopes to use the profits from this year’s harvest to save more money for the future.

This loan will help not only Edward, but the whole group, which will receive maize seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 7.83 acres of land.

In this group: Edward, Emily , Solome , Yusuf , Violet , Amos , Rabeca , Moses , Beatrice , Violet , Collins , Desmah , Mary , Nathan , Dickson , David , Oliver , Susy

This loan is special because:

It provides smallholder farmers with seeds and supplies at the planting season.
