A loan helped to buy brown and white pandanus for her ta'ovala weaving business.

Meleseini's story

Meleseini is married to a farmer and has three children. Currently she runs a weaving business, weaving only ta'ovala, using both white and brown pandanus. She weaves her ta'ovala and then sends them to her two sisters, who reside overseas, for marketing.

Her business is one of the main sources of income for her family. Her husband grows crops for family meals, while she covers their other expenses through her business.

She is applying for this loan to buy white and brown pandanus to weave more ta'ovala and earn more income for her family.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
