A loan helped to buy pandanu leaves for her weaving business.

Fekita's story

Fekita makes a living from weaving taovala, an article of Tongan dress, and selling them.

She is a single mother to her three daughters and they are living in their own home. Her eldest daughter has married with three kids and they are all living under the same roof.

It gives her pleasure to take care of her daughters and her grand kids at the same time. She is a sole weaver and her children help with preparing her pandanus for her weaving.

With this loan, she is able to buy pandanus and to support her weaving.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
