A loan helped to purchase organic fertilizers and insecticides to improve her crops and feed for the pigs and chickens.

Jennifer Estefania's story

Jennifer Estefania is 23 years old, separated, and has two children, ages 11 and 5. They live in the parish of San Placido in the canton of Portoviejo, an agricultural place par excellence of hardworking people who work at the rural tasks and raise animals.

She is a very hardworking woman who seeks the way to earn her resources and, with them, to get her children ahead on her own as she is both mother and father. Although her life is very difficult, as work and life in the countryside is hard due to the lack of basic services, she tries to get ahead for her children's wellbeing.

She works in agriculture. She has some hectares with cacao and plantain crops, crops which she hopes to improve with the help of the loans and, so, to improve her production. Once she collects the products, she brings them to sell to the merchants in Portoviejo.

This loan is to purchase organic fertilizers and insecticides to improve her crops and feed for the pigs and chickens.
