Maria Elsa's story

María is 57 years old, she is an honest, hardworking woman. She is a single mother living with her two sons and her grand children. She has a small house that she has just finished paying for although she does not have the papers. She hopes to be able to pull together the money to legalise the property. María is a street vendor, she sells sweets outside schools. She would like to acquire new sweets and toys to sell in the new school year that starts in a month. Her future plan is to have a shop where she can sell her products more formally. The money that she earns from sales is destined to pay for the legalisation of the papers for her home so that her family has security and a decent life.
