A loan helped a family with their new business / startup Latino Caribbean food truck!

Judex's story

We are a family. In September 2022 we moved with our 3 youngest daughters from Boston, Massachusetts to NW Arkansas. We knew when we visited family earlier that year that NW Arkansas would be a great place to raise our children, and we were right. They are thriving here. We originally made the move for a business opportunity with a family member. It was not as successful as we hoped it would be and we dissolved our partnership. It has been a struggle since then, but we are determined to remain in NW Arkansas because our family loves it here. This is home to us.

The dream of opening a food truck is not new to us. We began to explore the opportunity while living in the Northeast. It was 5 years ago that we attended our first food truck convention, but living in Boston it was difficult to start a small business, not much help, and the rules and regulations presented too big a risk for our family to take.

We find Arkansas a much friendlier and helpful state to start a small business. We believe we have a product people will love. We have tested our menu on family and friends. They are all encouraging us to start this new adventure! We have recently attended food truck conventions and seminars to gain as much information and knowledge as possible to start a successful business. We have also talked with many food truck owners who are having success. They have been very supportive and helpful, encouraging us to follow the dream that started for us 5 years ago.

If we are fortunate enough to receive this loan it will be used to fund our business. It will go towards purchasing all it takes to open our food truck business. We are looking to purchase a food trailer, a used truck to pull it to different locations, food, supplies, and equipment we will need to start our business.

This loan is special because:

It supports a small business owner with 0%-interest, zero-fee capital.
