A loan helped to purchase more fashionable clothes for resale.

Prossy's story

Prossy is 32 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mityana region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children, with 2 of them currently in school. For the past 7 years, Prossy has been working hard to manage her boutique, which sells all kinds of adult clothes, like shirts, and dresses.

To help expand her business, Prossy has requested a loan of 8,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more fashionable clothes for resale, which will help Prossy generate greater profit, allowing her to provide enough basic needs for her family, pay school fees for her children and take good care of herself.

Prossy hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her clothing business into a bigger boutique. Prossy is a member of BRAC's microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small-group members, like Prossy, who do not have collaterals for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
