A loan helped to buy inventory of basic food items such as rice, sugar, cooking oil and others.

Kelly Elizabeth's story

Kelly is 29 and lives in Estelí. She is married, the mother of three children, and has maintained a small food store for the past year and a half. The store had been run by her mother but Kelly now manages it full time, having left her job as manager of a discoteque. The store is located in her neighborhood and sells basic products such as bread, tortillas, rice, sugar, etc. Her husband helps her with the day to day tasks of the business.
Kelly is seeking a loan to purchase additional inventory of food items as well as cooking gas. This credit will allow her to expand her sales, meet increasing demand by clients for food products and will allow her to invest more profits into growing the business. Her future plans include providing an education for her children, two of which are in high school and the youngest is in third grade. Another goal of hers is to begin selling butane gas.
