Leslie's story

Hello, I am Leslie. Born in Santiago de Chile, I have lived in Northwest Arkansas with my husband, Jaime, and our cats since 2020. My professional background is in Business Administration and Finance analysis, but my true passion has always been sewing and creating clothing. I first fell in love with these crafts through various courses in Chile and online in the U.S.

The pandemic allowed me to reconnect with my favorite activities, like designing and making lingerie. It also allowed me to envision what it would be like to work in a field I am truly passionate about. I started making my garments, and the positive feedback from family and friends encouraged me to start a business. My sister-in-law introduced me to Etsy, a marketplace I wasn't familiar with then. After some research, I decided to open my store, Peppermint Lingerie, to create inclusive clothing that anyone could wear without prejudice.

During this journey, members of the LGBT+ community reached out to me, sharing their experiences and highlighting the lack of intimate apparel for transgender women. Their stories inspired me to delve deeper into this niche, leading to many days of research and experimentation. My first clients were incredibly generous, providing valuable feedback and explaining their specific needs.

This venture has made me feel part of a broader societal movement toward empathy, diversity, and respect. It has enriched me profoundly as a human being, and I am determined to grow and reach many more people with my handmade garments. Your support will help me continue this meaningful journey, positively impacting the lives of many.
