María's story

María lives in the settlement of Inagan, in the municipality of Ipiales, Nariño department, in southwestern Colombia. This belongs to the indigenous reservation of Ipiales.

María works in agriculture and raising small animals. In addition, she works as a street vendor of fruits and vegetables.

María is 49 years old, a single mother, and lives with a daughter who is currently independent.

María asks for a loan for the amount of 2,077,000 COP to invest in the purchase of agricultural supplies.

Her experience in the rural sector is from childhood as she is from the zone and her parents led her to know and continue working the land and knowing what it offers. As fruit of this, she was able to get her assets and offer her family financial stability and help the fields progress.
