A loan helped to purchase weaves, hair lotions, and hair treatments.

Saudar's story

Saudar is 34 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mityana region of Uganda. She is married and has five children, four of whom are currently in school.

For the past five years, Saudar has been working hard to manage her beauty salon, where she plaints hair and does hair treatments.

To help expand her business, Saudar has requested a loan of 3,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase weaves, hair lotions, and hair treatments to attract more customers. It will help Saudar to generate greater profits and improve her family's standard of living by providing them with enough food and clothes.

Saudar hopes that in the future she will be able to build rental units for business. She is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members, like Saudar , who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.

This loan is special because:

It offers training programs in life skills for young women.
