A loan helped a member to buy cooking oil, chicken, condiments, and corn, etc.

La Esperanza El Tepeyac Group's story

Hellen is 46 years old. She devotes herself to making and selling tortillas and 'nacatamales' [stuffed tortillas]. She started this business activity as a means to get her daughter ahead.

She is requesting a loan from Fundenuse using Kiva funds to buy cooking oil, chicken, condiments, and corn, among other products. With the previous loan she got good earnings because she got the raw material at a lower price.

The members who comprise the La Esperanza El Tepeyac Group together with Hellen are Rosa, who devotes herself to selling second-hand clothes and selling pigs for fattening and Juan, who buys and sells fruits and vegetables.

In this group: Hellen, Rosa, Juan

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Ginny Kalish.

This loan is special because:

It helps promote financial inclusion in Nicaragua's rural northwest.
