And Takkou Liguey Group's story

Fatou is the woman in the photo seated in the chair holding the horns of the sheep. She is the president of the "And Takkou Liguey Group". It means "together to work". She raises animals. She is 50 years old, married to a farmer and mother of four children aged from 4 to 16 years old who go to school. She is a creditworthy client and has operated her business for over 13 years.

She buys her animals at the local markets and sells them during festival times in surrounding markets.

The revenue she makes allows her to take care of the family needs (health care, food, education, sanitation, etc.).

The difficulties she faces in her business are high prices for the animals and competition in the market.

Her main wish is to have a very large herd and open a large shop in the village to sell to all the merchants in the surrounding villages.

In this group: Fatou, Coumba, Woury, Coumba, Mariama, Coumba, Ngadia, Awa, Maguatte, Sophy, Boye, Diarra, Fatou
