A loan helped a member to buy more Irish potato seeds and fertilizers.


Duhuzimbaraga Agric Sub Grp B Group's story

Esperance is a 43-year-old mother of two children whose ages range from of 12 to 19 years old. Her husband is also a farmer, and for the past 29 years, she has been growing Irish potatoes.

Esperance is the leader of the group named Duhuzimbaraga Agric Sub Grp B, which in English means "Joining in strength" All of the group members are Irish potato growers.

Esperance will use her loan to buy more Irish potato seeds and fertilizers. She will then sell her harvest at the marketplace to meet customer demands in the area. With the profits from her sales, she hopes to be able to provide tuition for her children and also be able to reinvest in her business of agriculture and livestock.
