Mariana Concepcion's story

This is Mariana, 51, who is a humble, hardworking woman who is in a relationship and has no dependents since all her children are independent adults. She works alongside her husband who aspires to having a good retirement. She lives in a wooden house in the Gongora sector on the coast of Ecuador.

Her family earns their living working in agriculture. She has two hectares of cocoa crop, and she and her husband want to plant another hectare to increase production of quality cocoa.

Her plans for the future are to finish planting two hectares of available land to earn more money so she and her husband can enjoy a decent, peaceful retirement with their basic needs covered.
