Koutane Serere Sebikotane Group's story

The village bank was created in 2013 and is made up of brave women who work in sales. They live in the same village and have established solidarity amongst themselves.
Madame Rokhaya is a 58 year old married woman and mother of nine children of which five are boys. All of her children attend school. She sells fabrics and cosmetics. She is the group's representative and is standing to the right of the picture with her hand raised.
She is going to supplement her boutique with five cartons of perfume, five packages of body lotion, a carton of soap and two cartons of braids. She will buy 500 000F worth of fabric.

She is a woman who has good selling techniques and she is also kind, open and courteous. She conducts her sales from a store in the market and is well known in the neighbouring villages.

She uses the profits to assist her husband with the household expenses and contributes a portion to a savings account at the village bank.
