Bandu's story

Meet 39-year-old Bandu from Liberia. She is married and a mother of four kids. She never had the opportunity to attend school. She is a strong businesswoman who sells apple, milk, sugar, banana, soft drinks, juice, butter, water, and other items. She sells six days a week and has been running her business for 18 years now. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site.

She requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more apple, milk, sugar, banana, soft drinks, juice, butter, water, and other items to sell to further build her business.

She likes her business because it helps to sustain her family. In the future she wants to increase her business and build a house. She thanks BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
