A loan helped to buy agricultural inputs and small livestock.

Edgar Geovany's story

Edgar is a hard-working 47-year-old man of agriculture, who lives with his wife in the San Francisco community. The work that he and hiswife do has allowed them to support their son and get him an education in a rural school in the area. Working the land is the main source of income for his family.

Edgar learned through some neighbors about the Kiva organization and started working with them to request his first loan, which he will invest in the purchase of agricultural inputs and small livestock, which they will later sell in the area's market. He dreams of owning their home and having their own land to plant more potato seeds and other seeds to generate more financial and family stability.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Eduardo Sanz.
