A loan helped to buy mulberry for her tapa making business.

Losa's story

Losa is a mother of six and a grandmother to many. She and her husband live in their own home, while their children have their own lives. Every Saturday, she joins a group of women, and together they make tapas. She started her business preparing and selling soft tapas only.

Her husband is busy spending his time at their plantation, providing crops and vegetables for their daily meals. She believes that they should also use their plantation for commercial purposes. With this loan, she is able to buy mulberry to make more tapas.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
