A loan helped to buy chickens, free-range hens, corn, peanuts, banana leaves, fertilizers, urea, and to pay for water, etc.

Tyrone Bladimir's story

Tyrone Bladimir and his family live in the city of Portoviejo which was affected by the earthquake of April 16, 2016. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption.

He and his family are very grateful for the loans as their sales have increased. They make and sell Ecuadorian hayacas which are cornmeal-based pastries with chicken, eggs and vegetables, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed. (The covering is banana leaves and inside is a portion of rice, a fried ripe plantain cut in half, a piece of chicken, all accompanied by a liquid peanut sauce.) They make them to order on the weekends and deliver them within the city and its surroundings.

They also have some plots of land where they grow cacao, rice, peanuts, and peppers. When they are harvested, Tyrone Bladimir takes them to the city markets to sell.

This loan is to buy chickens, free-range hens, corn, peanuts, banana leaves, fertilizer, urea, and to pay for water, etc.
