Jahaira Marlene's story

Jahaira Marlene and her family live in the city of Portoviejo, which was hit by an earthquake on 16th April 2016. The city is well known for its agriculture, producing vegetables, legumes and tropical fruit for domestic consumption.

In order to make a living and do something she enjoys, Jahaira Marlene prepares a range of breakfasts, lunches and snacks with great care and attention. In the afternoons, she sells sandwiches, hamburgers and fruit smoothies from her stall on the street opposite one of the city's hospitals. She works every day with help from her family.

This loan will help to buy a range of groceries, disposable containers, sodas, water, chairs, pay for refrigerator maintenance, etc.
