A loan helped to buy products in bulk for her convenience store.

Felipa Rosario's story

Felipa, age 45, strives each day to have an impact on society. She has demonstrated her skills in managing a business and inspiring other women. Felipa is married and has no children. Her husband has his own convenience store in a rented space.

Felipa only has two years of education. She established her convenience store at her house 14 years ago. Thanks to the help of an employee, she is able to attend to her customers.

Felipa also has the gift of being a midwife, so she is present at many births in the community. She also offers massages. Felipe offers these services at her home and the homes of her clients.

She is requesting her first Kiva loan so that she can acquire products in bulk for her store in order to increase her inventory and satisfy the needs of her customers. Her goal is to buy land so that she can build a larger store.

Felipa lives in the Department of Quetzaltenango. She receives an enormous benefit in the form of personalized technical training that is part of the “Bridge to Success” program offered by Friendship Bridge. Felipa learns basic skills such as planning, budgeting, and customer service, which will also help her develop confidence and self-esteem in different parts of her life. She will be able to grow and become more successful in her community.

Thank you, Kiva lenders, for funding loans to women like Felipa so that they can have a more favorable and successful future.
