Tawfekh Group's story

Ms. Amy Cole, 46, is a shopkeeper and the president of the group “Tawfekh” which means “union for work” in French. She is the one sitting and raising her right hand, holding a bowl of peanuts in the picture.

Married to a driver, she takes care of her children aged 13 and 17 who all go to school. Amy is a credit-worthy client who has been carrying out this activity for 30 years.

With this loan she plans to buy peanuts and inputs. This will allow her to strengthen her activity and increase her income.

To get supplies, Amy goes to the weekly markets in her area and to the town hall. The income she earns allows her to take care of the family's needs in the areas of health, food, education, hygiene, etc.

Among the difficulties Amy faces are the risk of shortage of inputs and porosity of the soil.

Amy says that she wants to become a large peanut producer, transform her product into paste and sell it in the weekly markets.
