A loan helped to buy a variety of goods (clothes, sandals and bags) to meet her customers' demands.

Francisca's story

Francisca is a 27-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband in Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese district in Ghana. She sells clothes, bags and sandals. With her previous Kiva loan, she expanded her business and used the profit she earned to support her daily needs.

Francisca is requesting another loan to buy a variety of goods (clothes, sandals and bags) to meet her customers' demands. She plans to use the profit she earns to reinvest in her business. She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a CAMFED Business Mentor, leading sessions to teach less experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen, and sharing the lessons she learned from operating her business.

This loan is special because:

It provides 0% interest loans to entrepreneurs that give back to their community by mentoring.
