A loan helped a member to buy some nereid seeds in order to make "soumala" (African ingredient for a sauce) and to sell it for a profit.

Danaya Group's story

Nana is the person who crushes the nereid seed in an African mill. She is 40 years old, the mother of six children, three in school. Her business consists of buying nereid seeds in order to make them into "soumala" (African ingredient for a sauce) and to sell it to make a profit. She has had this business for more than 10 years and sells "soumala" in the area, the local markets and in other locations. Nana now serves a major part of the population and is becoming a large producer of "soumala".

Thanks to this business she is able to pay the school fees of her children, take care of the household expenses and to save. Her dream is to be able to give a good education to her children and to send them to some big schools in the years to come.

A former client of the group is in the photo although she has not taken a loan this time.
