A loan helped to buy more bales of used clothing for resale.

Rosetta's story

Meet 48-year-old Rosetta from Liberia. She is married and has 3 children who live at home while attending school. Rosetta never had the opportunity to attend school. She is a hardworking businesswoman who sells used clothes. She has been operating her business for 10 years. She learned how to sell from her mother and uses a car to transport supplies to her business site 6 days a week.

Rosetta has requested this loan from Brac Liberia, a Kiva lending Partner, and she will invest in her business by buying more bales of used clothes to sell. This will allow her to generate greater profits.

Rosetta likes her business because sales are profitable. She wants to build a store and deal in an international business in the future. Rosetta says thanks and gives appreciation to Brac and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
