A loan helped to purchase more rubbers to increase her business.

Fatmata's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 42-year-old Fatmata from Masingbi branch. She is a married businesswoman with five children, between the ages of 10 and 16 years old. Three are currently attending school.

Fatmata runs a retail business selling rubbers to her customers around the community. She started her business to take care of her family. She has been in this business for the past 10 years. Fatmata says that her challenge is the increase in prices of goods in the market.

Fatmata requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more rubbers to increase her business. Fatmata says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family. In the future, she would like to expand to a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
