A loan helped to purchase more provisions like milk, cheese, butter, sugar, etc to increase his business.

Foday's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 42 year old Foday from the Wara Wara branch. He is a married businessman with three children between the ages of 4 years and 12 years old. All are currently attending school. He started this business to care for his family.

Foday runs a retail business and sells provisions to his customers around the community. He has been in this business for the past 11 years now. Foday say that his challenge is the increase in the cost of goods in the market.

He requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more provisions like milk, cheese, butter, sugar, etc to increase his business. Foday says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of his family. In the future, he would like to establish it to a larger scale.

He says thanks to Brac and Kiva for their support.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to funding in areas where there are limited alternative sources of finance.
