A loan helped a member to buy fish and ingredients with which to make ice cream.

08-Bonna Wakily Group's story

This group mobilised in October 2010 to create a "banc villageois" so that they could realise their ambitions and improve their living conditions. They are all small retailers.

Aissatou, who is raising her hand in the picture, is the group leader. She is 36 years old, married and has 2 children.

She operates 2 freezers. She plans to use her part of the loan to buy some fish and some bags of monkey bread (fruit of the baobab tree), hibiscus, sugar and other ingredients with which to make ice cream.

She will use her profits to buy cattle and take care of her needs.
