A loan helped to buy agricultural inputs and seeds.

Fernando Marcelo's story

This outgoing and hardworking young farmer lives with his mother and younger siblings in a humble wooden house that his relatives lend him.

Marcelo feels very grateful to the Kiva organization for the support that it provided to him when he was starting to plant his crops. Thanks to this loan, he has been able to consolidate his plantations and have rotating crops, so as to have a good livelihood for his family.

Although Marcelo currently works in agriculture, he has the dream of continuing his higher education on his mind, but he know that for that to happen, he must continue working on his crops. In addition, he dreams of buying his own plot of land on which to cultivate his produce, close to the river so that it is always irrigated.

Marcelo seeks a new loan to purchase agricultural inputs for the maintenance of his crops, hoping to thus obtain more income with which to support his mother and siblings.
