This is Gilda, age 24. She's single and has no children. She lives in the El Moral area with her parents and siblings. She's a very persevering, happy, and modest girl. She very much likes the country.
She works raising pigs. She has four years of experience in this work, which enables her to contribute economically to her household. She hopes to start other agricultural activities.
At the moment she wants to boost her pig production. She's looking for financial support from Kiva and Banco VisionFund Ecuador to buy breeding sows so she can reproduce well-bred young, which will enable her to improve her income through the sale of the piglets.
Her plan for the future is to expand and modernize her pigpens for better breeding, which will yield the profitability to solidify her dreams of having her own house and starting a family.
