A loan helped a member to buy inputs like fertilizer and seed.

Chitsanzp Group's story

Joel is 48-year-old man, married with two children aged 19 and 1 year old and they are all in school. In the picture he is standing at the back with a hand raised up.

Joel has been a maize farmer for 16 years. He enjoys being a farmer because he is always busy in the field monitoring his crops and farming is profitable.

The new loan from the FIFAD program will help him to buy inputs like fertilizer and seed for winter cropping and this will help him to increase yields so that he will have enough maize for his family and for business. He believes that farming works well when a farmer has fertilizer to add to the crops for better yields.

The profits from the business will help him support his children with all basic needs, and some profits will help him buy some land for farming next season.
