A loan helped to buy dry foods to sell.

Pario's story

Meet Pario, a refugee and a mother of five children who all attend school and live with the family in Yumbe, in the West Nile region of Uganda. Pario left the only place she knew as her home in Sudan and fled to Uganda to find a safe place where she could feel at peace.

Pario is a farmer who grows millet, cassava, sorghum, and beans. Through these activities she works to provide for her family's basic needs but is not able to give them all they would ever need.

In addition to farming, Pario has a small stall that sells mainly foodstuffs. She would like to buy a variety of dry foods to boost her sales and pay school fees. Since the demand for food is always there, she would like still to buy dry food so that she can expand the business and start selling cooked food

Her dream is to build a permanent house. She is very glad for all the support that VisionFund and Kiva have given her to be able to be a better person.
